As National Cybersecurity Awareness Month comes to a close, ONC will be hosting a Twitter chat (#CyberAwareChat) on Thursday, October 27 at 1pm ET. The chat will cover security best practices, breach prevention tips, ransomware, and other cybersecurity topics. Anyone interested in helping make sure they are keeping health information safe and secure should join us to share what tips on what you’ve found effective and to learn from others’ best practices. 

Ask & Code: Documenting Homelessness Throughout the Health Care System

This webinar complements our recent policy brief and will discuss how the ICD-10-CM code for homelessness (Z59.0) has been implemented at a Health Care for the Homeless grantee in Colorado, and how a hospital system has instituted a housing status screening tool in Pennsylvania. Finally, we’ll hear from a leading managed care entity about why Medicaid plans need to have this information and see preliminary results from a pilot project in Texas using the Z59.0 code to identify homelessness among Medicaid beneficiaries.

ONC hosted a webinar to launch the Health IT Privacy & Security Technology Learning Community. This learning community is exploring the ONC Security Risk Assessment (SRA) Tool. It is looking to leverage stakeholder expertise to help inform health care delivery system reform and advance the use of interoperable health IT to improve the quality, safety, and efficiency of healthcare. The webinar was held on October 25 at 2pm ET.

This interactive webinar will discuss lessons learned from the Opioid Treatment Program Service Continuity Project II (OTP SCP II), an initiative to share opioid treatment data through health information exchanges (HIEs) in cases of care discontinuity in a manner that is sensitive to privacy concerns under 42 CFR Part 2 regulations.
