This includes the physical environment in which the EHR will operate and the implementation and testing of technically complex components of the clinical information system. This guide focuses on the management and monitoring protocols, policies, and practices required to enhance the safety of the EHR’s technical components. It is intended to be worked through by a multidisciplinary team representing clinicians, technical staff, administrative specialists, frequent end-users, and any relevant subject matter experts who can provide additional perspectives for enhancing safety through an efficient and effective process.
