Combatting the HIV & HCV Epidemics in Rural Massachusetts
Meeting the diverse needs of people who inject drugs can present many challenges--even more so in rural settings. There are barriers to ensuring equitable access to preventative measures such as PrEP/nPEP and HIV/HCV treatment regimens, and these barriers can be very different from those in major metropolitan areas. Combined with the stigmas of drug use and communicable disease, in addition to the COVID-19 pandemic, these issues can become even harder to address. In this webinar, we discuss these unique rural challenges, the ways that providers are already rising up to confront these challenges, and the ways in which current models can be scaled to meet the challenges across the state.
