Health Center Clinician Office Hours: Leveraging Telehealth for SUD Care

This webinar was developed for health center clinicians by The National Clinician Consultation Center (NCCC) in partnership with the Health Resources and Services Administration’s Bureau of Primary Health Care.

The onset of COVID-19 accelerated the adoption of telehealth as an option for health care providers to remotely engage patients in care, including those with substance use disorders (SUDs). Now as health centers begin to plan delivering care in a post-pandemic environment, examining what strategies to retain remains crucial for engaging and retaining patients in care. During this webinar, clinician consultants from the NCCC’s Substance Use Warmline (855-300-3595; nccc.ucsf.edu) provided an overview of promising practices and considerations for SUD care during the age of telehealth.

During this office hour session, clinician consultants from the NCCC:

1. Discussed insights, best practices and challenges for providig telehealth to people with SUD, including treatment initiation and monitoring.
2. Identifyed strategies for engaging and retaining patients with SUD in care in the COVID era.
