FHIR 101

HITEQ National Training

It is imperative for health centers to incorporate FHIR into their technology portfolio. This session offered an overview of health data interoperability factors and frequently used clinical terminologies, with a particular focus on the HL7 FHIR standard. To effectively aggregate and analyze data from thousands of electronic health record (EHR) systems and millions of patient encounters, these systems must be interoperable, which means they must be able to communicate data meaningfully. We discussed the impact that adoption of the HL7 FHIR standard may have on EHR tasks and workflows at your Health Center and how it could potentially help solve some common health information exchange and reporting challenges.
