A subject matter expert from UCSF presented recent research showing how rising documentation requirements can limit provider engagement with crucial external information sources, such as Health Information Exchanges (HIE) and other provider records. The session discussed how excessive documentation impacts care coordination, referral networks, and efforts to reduce duplication. Participants gained practical insights into improving workflows, optimizing information use, and better supporting organizational goals.
