The Quadruple Aim
Quadruple Aim

A Conceptual Framework

Website for Working Group established by the Department of Health and Human Services on Payment Reform

In the spring of 2016, the Department of Health and Human services established the Health Care Payment and Learning Action Network (HCP-LAN) whose mission is to accelerate the health care system’s transition to alternative payment models by combining the innovation, power, and reach of the private and public sectors.

This group has since developed a variety of useful resources, including a whitepaper on Alternative Payment Model frameworks, a document describing best practices for attribution, and a blog on value-based payment. They also host events such as webinars, Twitter chats, and in-person meetings. Membership in this group is free, and members receive access to their resources and email updates and invitations to the group’s activities.  Although the content addressed by this group is primarily geared toward total cost of care and the delivery system as a whole, health centers may find this group useful for these perspectives and deeper understanding of opportunities and points of engagement with the broader system beyond primary care.
