Despite changing political forces, health care is likely to continue to transform toward value based payment, which has long held bipartisan support. This webinar will review basic concepts of value based payment and IT-related requirements to engage in these models successfully.  The session will feature how one health center uses health IT to participate in value based payment models. Finally, participants will take a ‘tour’ of the HITEQ Center's Value Based Payment resource set in the context of how these resources can support health center engagement in value based payment models.

It is sometimes difficult to know what target metric to focus on when beginning a quality improvement project. A prioritization matrix is a management tool that uses a simple framework to compare multiple options side-by-side using standard criteria. This version includes four criteria and can be adapted for your purposes.

 A Project Charter serves as a reference of authority for the future of the project. Creating a Project Charter and getting sign off from all participants gives all involved the authority to begin the work outlined therein. The task of developing the Project Charter builds understanding, consensus, and clarity about purpose, expectations, roles and responsibilities, and communications.

This presentation will focus on current research that explains the most prevalent cyber attacks plaguing the healthcare industry, outline security technology that can best keep clinical staff safe from cyber attacks and provide a framework that hospitals can utilize to augment their security posture.  

Health Catalyst published the inaugural version of the Healthcare Analytics Adoption Model in 2012, a proposed framework to measure the adoption and meaningful use of data warehouses and analytics in healthcare in ways similar to the well-known HIMSS Analytics EMRAM model. A second version of the Health Analytics Adoption Model was released in 2013.

This can be a helpful framework for understanding what is infrastructure and processes are needed to use data successfully to manage the health of your population and engage in alternative payment arrangements that continue to gain traction.
