Optimizing the Presentation and Visualization of Health Data for Patients and Providers

This webinar discussed methods for optimizing the presentation of health data for both providers and patients. Presenters discussed methods for presenting meaningful displays of medical test result data to patients for improved understanding and described two EHR usability studies around navigators and clinical note organization to improve the efficiency of provider documentation.

Objectives:

Describe the challenges patients face in understanding medical test data and present evidence-based methods to overcome these barriers and help patients make sense of the data, manage their health, and make choices about their care.
Describe findings around EHR navigator usage and clinical note organization with usability studies to support improved provider workflow.

Results of Population Health Analytics/ Data Integration Survey

HITEQ conducted an anonymous survey of population health analytic and data integration system needs and impressions among PCA/HCCNs in late 2016 and early 2017. The results of that survey, intended to help those looking to adopt similar systems, are laid out within. This includes ratings of key functionalities, discussion of most important features, and comments from those who have assessed and/ or implemented these tools.

The webinar reviewed the current state of electronic dental records (EDRs) for health centers, discussed their use and integration with electronic health records, and instructed participants on how to use an EDR to meet various incentive programs and reporting requirements.

Mobile Technology Applications for Agricultural Worker Health Interventions

Growing numbers of agricultural workers use mobile phones, which presents an opportunity to engage them in healthy behavior interventions. This webinar brings together experts with experience in using mobile technology in agricultural worker communities. Panelists will discuss highlights and lessons learned from their research, as well as potential resource challenges. At the end of this webinar, health center staff and others will have tools for effectively engaging agricultural worker communities with mobile health platforms.
