This presentation will focus on current research that explains the most prevalent cyber attacks plaguing the healthcare industry, outline security technology that can best keep clinical staff safe from cyber attacks and provide a framework that hospitals can utilize to augment their security posture.  

Health Catalyst published the inaugural version of the Healthcare Analytics Adoption Model in 2012, a proposed framework to measure the adoption and meaningful use of data warehouses and analytics in healthcare in ways similar to the well-known HIMSS Analytics EMRAM model. A second version of the Health Analytics Adoption Model was released in 2013.

This can be a helpful framework for understanding what is infrastructure and processes are needed to use data successfully to manage the health of your population and engage in alternative payment arrangements that continue to gain traction. 

Tools and resources pertinent to colorectal cancer screening from authoritative resources on the topic and organized by the change package outline. Some of these approaches and tools were used in the NACHC Improving Data Integrity, Access, and Analysis Project, which focused on applying data-driven strategies to improve colorectal cancer screening.

Developed and made available by Capital Link and the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC), this overview provides health centers with a definition of predictive analytics, its history and development, the data and resources needed to predict a patient’s future behavior, and how health centers can begin utilizing it. It also includes specific examples of organizations that have successfully used predictive analytics. This study was supported by the Health Resources and Services Administration. 

Targeting care and effective planning for improving population health requires good information about current health status and the factors that will influence that health status.  This report identifies the metrics – the population health outcomes and important risk and protective factors – that, taken together, can describe the health of a community and drive action. Selection of these metrics is  based on a systematic review of professional and academic judgment over the past three decades.
